Summer Stage Young Acting Company
Students in our Summer Stage Young Acting Company debut brand-new plays written by other local students who participated in the Young Playwright Contest. These students dive into character development and get hands-on training in stage movement, speech and acting for the stage from professionals in the field.
Students this year performed the following shows:
“The Horror Backstage” By Fallon Greenway, John Kunz and Madelyn McMann
“The Shove” By Natalie Deso and Ava McTiernen
“Mending Broken Hearts” By Karthik Nair and Isabella Wiu
“Zero Gravity Woes” By Nathaniel Burke and Chloe Tyson
“Enemies to Lovers” By Sophie Duerr and Sean Halligan
Our students love the opportunity to perform works created by students of the same age. SYAC gives students who love to perform but don’t necessarily want to be in a musical the chance to act in unique and creative plays that no one has seen before. One of the best parts is that although the plays are all connected by the mandatory use of a specific line, it’s amazing to see how drastically different the plots are. One show brought us to a spaceship, another to a long-lost romance, another to a high school murder – all so different but all so brilliant!
