CSOA Announces Freddy Ramirez in new position

Collaborative School of the Arts, a part of Proctors Collaborative, has just announced that frequent collaborator Freddy Ramirez has been appointed as the director of dance programming. 

Prior to joining Proctors Collaborative, Freddy performed on Broadway and toured the United States and Europe. He was also a member of In Forward Motion Dance Company. 

Ramirez has over a decade of experience working with Proctors Collaborative in various capacities including previous programs with the Collaborative School of the Arts as well as being an associate artist at Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany. 

He most recently choreographed “The Wizard of Oz,” “Jersey Boys,” “The Irish and How They Got That Way” and many more at theREP. Ramirez has also choreographed “All Shook Up,” “Aida,” “Pippin,” “Les Misérables,” “RENT” and most recently “Into the Woods” for the Collaborative School of the Arts’ summer Broadway Camp as well as its annual High School Musical Theatre Awards. He also currently holds his dance classes in The Adeline Graham Theatrical Training and Innovation Center inside of Proctors. 

“I am thrilled to be expanding the artistic role that Freddy has with Proctors Collaborative,” says Christine Sheehan, director of Collaborative School of the Arts. “He has invested in many programs at the Collaborative over the years, as well as training future generations in and outside our walls. I value him immensely as an artist and educator.” 

As Director of Dance Programming, Ramirez will be tasked with enhancing and expanding the school’s vision and offerings of signature dance training programs.
