We love our volunteers!

Become an essential part of theREP’s vibrant community by volunteering! Whether you’re assisting with performances, supporting special events or engaging with audiences, your time and talents help create unforgettable experiences. Volunteering at theREP is a rewarding way to connect with the arts, meet like-minded individuals and make a meaningful impact in Albany’s cultural scene.

Volunteer Opportunities

Ushers duties:
Assist patrons with seating, distribute programs and provide assistance to patrons during daytime and/or evening performances. As one of the responsibilities of the ushers is to assist with the evacuation of the building in the event of an emergency, this may not be a good position for anyone with physical limitations.

Bartenders duties:
Set up bar area and serve beverages to patrons prior to shows and during intermission. Accept cashless payments on an electronic device. Beverages served include beer, wine, pre-mixed cocktails, soft drinks and water. There is no mixing of drinks required. Carrying is involved, this is not a good position for anyone with physical limitations. Additional training is required.

Hospitality team duties:
Assist theREP staff at receptions and donor events serving drinks, food and desserts. There are several of these during the run of our shows and some occur in non-show slots. Volunteers don’t need to be bartenders to be on the hospitality team. Due to the nature of Hospitality, this is not a good position for individuals with physical limitations.

C.A.S.T. – The Cultivating Arts & Students Together (C.A.S.T.) programs at theREP, Proctors and UPH gives high school students, grades 9-12, the opportunity to fulfill community service credits while being close to the best shows the Capital Region has to offer at the region’s premiere regional professional theatres, Proctors, theREP and UPH.
