Q: Where is your housing?
A: All of our housing is conveniently located downtown, no more than 2.5 blocks away from the theatre.

Q: What if I need coins for laundry?
A: You can come to company management and we can exchange your cash for quarters!

Q: Where is the rehearsal space?
A: In most cases, rehearsal happens in our rehearsal hall at the theatre. However, sometimes rehearsal takes place in another space about 15 minutes away from theREP. You will be notified.

Q: How do I get comp tickets?
A: Actors are given sic comp tix for the run of their show. To reserve a comp ticket, please email either your Company Manager or the Asst. Company Manager at least 48 hours in advance. There is no discount for guest artists to purchase tickets. If you run out of comp tickets, ask other artists if they would be willing to share their comps with you. We also offer group rates for parties of 10 or more. Learn more about our group rates here.

TRANSPORTATION

Q: When will I hear from Company Management about travel?
A: Approximately 2 weeks before you arrive.

Q: Where can I park?
A: All guests at Capital Repertory Theatre are welcome to park in the garage located above Capital Repertory Theatre. To access the garage, you will need to get a parking fob from the Company Manager. Failure to return the fob will result in charges detailed in your contract. If you are not given a personal fob, there is a communal fob available in the admin office, at eye level on the wall next to the company manager’s desk.

Q: How do I sign out a car?
A: Email either the Company Manager or the Asst. Company Manager requesting a car and the time that you’d like to take it out. We’ll let you know if cars available and when you can stop by to pick up a key. If you would like access to a vehicle when company management is not in office, a member of the Stage Management team is able to retrieve keys for you. Please return keys within 24 hours.

Street parking is metered during weekdays but is free on evenings and weekends.

Q: If I need a ride somewhere, who do I ask and how?
A: Company management will be happy to assist you in getting a ride. Please send a member of the Company Management team an email with your request, detailing date, time, and destination, preferably 48 hours in advance. If we are unable to give you a ride, Uber and Lyft are available, and there are many taxi services in the area.

Q: If I drive my car to Albany, should I keep my receipts?
A: No. Reimbursement will be calculated by mileage or the equivalent of an Amtrak ticket.

MAIL & POSTAGE

Q: What if I need to mail something?
A: You can purchase stamps from company management here at the theatre! If at the end of your stay, you have any packages to be mailed out, please package them appropriately and label each box clearly with the address you would like them to be sent to.

Q: Where should I have mail delivered?
A: All mail forwarded to you should be sent to the theatre’s physical address, not to company housing. It should be sent to your name or to your attention (see examples below):

Q: Where is the gym? Is it free?
A: Our gym is located just a few blocks from housing at the OMNI Fitness Center, located at 54 State St, 2nd Floor, Albany, NY 12207. Visit company management to receive a card to access the gym.

IN AND AROUND ALBANY

Q: What are the local grocery stores?
A: Albany offers many options for grocery shopping, including Hannaford, Price Chopper, Market32 and Shop Rite. There are also Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods within easy driving distance of our housing. There are no walkable grocery stores. However, RiteAid provides limited basic supplies.

Q: Where are our discounts downtown?
A: Guests of theREP are welcome to discounts at McGeary’s Restaurant and Miranda’s, both conveniently located just a few steps from the theatre. Just make sure to mention theREP when you order!

Q: Where can family or friends stay when they come to visit?
A: There are many hotels near our theatre. Across the street from the theatre, the Hampton Inn and Suites offers a discount to guests of the theatre. The Albany Hilton, The Desmond, and The Morgan State House are also nearby. Just let company management know what dates you want people to stay and the name the room(s) should be under. Company management will book the stay, and your family or friends will present their credit card upon arrival.

Q: What banks are near me?
A: There are several banking options located within walking distance, including Bank of America, Citizens Bank, M&T Bank, Pioneer Bank, KeyBank and TD Bank. There is not a CHASE location within the Capital District.

Q: Where’s the closest liquor store?
A: Broadway Plaza Liquor is located at 418 Broadway, Albany, NY, 12207.

Q: What’s open late on weekdays and weekends?
A: There are many restaurants downtown open late, including McGeary’s, The Hollow, The Olde English, Ama Cocina and Pearl St. Pub.

• All guests at Capital Repertory Theatre are welcome to park in the Quackenbush parking lot. It is the only overnight lot available to the theatre. To access the lot, you will need to get a tag from Company Management to hang on your rearview mirror for the duration of your stay.
