CAPITAL REPERTORY THEATRE 2025-2026 SEASON
BECKY NURSE OF SALEM
Written by Sarah Ruhl, Directed by Margaret E. Hall
Starts reh: 9/2/25 , Previews 9/26-28 , Opens 9/30, Closes 10/19/25
Synopsis: Salem, 2016. Or is it 1692? Reality is a slippery slope for Becky Nurse, whose ancestor was tried for witchcraft on the very spot where Becky now works as a museum guide. When Becky loses her job for sharing her opinions a bit too bluntly with the tourists, she begins to dabble in the dark arts to solve her mounting problems. This scathing comedy shreds the myth of the Salem witches as victims or villains, celebrating the defiant survivor in us all.
Note: The role of Becky Nurse is cast

(Plays ABIGAIL in Act 2.)
A WITCH –60s to 80s. Open ethnicity. A local Salem woman whose trade is that of a “Witch.” She reads palms and tarot and uses crystals and potions, etc., to help her patrons with their wants. She fully believes in her abilities.
