Mission statement
The mission of Capital Repertory Theatre (theREP) is to create a meaningful theatre generated from an authentic link to the community. theREP serves as a safe house for the cultural lives of both artists and the community at large. theREP fosters the belief that the theatre must serve as an advocate and caretaker of the common threads that bind the American culture together in a world that is defined more and more by diversity. theREP strives to bring to life those works that speak to our common cultural heritage as well as new work that expands our perceptions of ourselves and explores new horizons of thought through the medium of theatre. In pursuit of this mission, the Theatre holds the following goals:
- to provide great theatre to ALL people of the Capital Region
- to ensure that every student in the Capital Region experiences live theatre before graduating from high school
- to take a leadership role in defining New York’s Upper Hudson-Mohawk Valley as a cultural destination point
- to make theREP synonymous with quality in every aspect of the organization: acting and direction, production, education, customer service, civic leadership, quality and inclusion
